Today in class I got the chance to present in front of the class, which is not a fun experience. My hands are still shacking from that experience. Also it didn't help that the last time I present in front of a class was back when I was in Junior year in high school.
So other than that experience, I learn a lot from my other classmates. There was a few presentation that stand out because they were just amazing. And there's me who almost forgot what to say in front of the class. Other than that, I would like to talk about the most interesting presentation given in the class.
It was back on Monday were this one guy that told an interesting story. His topic was about cybersecurity. He when into detail in the first ever hack being recorded. Which was tapping into phone lines and making free calls. Seem harmless but over time people begin learn more how a system works and started to take advantage of it. I forgot what year it was but he talks about the time when the Melissa and the ILOVEYOU virus was rapid in people email account. Those bugs get into your contact list and start sending affected mail to other people. People thinks it you and the cycle starts over again. Their was more that he talk about but the general message was all of these attacks are for financial gain or to destroy a person reputation.
Moving along this student talk about the issue of cameras that could be easily be hack remotely. He told the class how easy it was to check in unsuspected people. Just go and check the dark web and you would be able to check someone across the country. The best way to defend yourself is to just cover up your camera on your laptop or just disconnect your webcam.
Overall I really like his presentation. It was informal, interesting, and he has a good personality. One last thing to mention was that the end of his presentation was that he plugging in a USB drive to the computer name "lol" and play a video. On the screen it says "you just hack" and a random guy just dancing to the beat.
